According to its website, The Africa Report is a leading news organization in Africa published by Jeune Afrique Media Group (JAMG).
In its midyear report 2019, the organization listed the 100 most influential Africans. In the list are some powerful personalities in business, music, the arts, and other industries.
Luxuriating at the very top of the list is Nigeria’s and Africa’s wealthiest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, reportedly worth $10.3 billion.
Davido occupies the 7th spot, one spot below the Ivorian banker and chairman of Credit Suisse, Tidjane Thiam (No. 6), and one spot above the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Enoch Adejare Adeboye (No. 8).
Other personalities in the top 10 are Elon Musk of Space X (No. 2), Koos Bekker of Tencent (No. 3) , Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie of the Purple Hibiscus fame (No. 4), Trevor Noah of The Daily Show (No. 5), Kumi Naidoo of Amnesty International (No. 9) and Abiy Ahmed (prime minister of Ethiopia, No. 10).
